Ewell Grove's Values and Aims

The overarching aim of Ewell Grove is to be a school of excellence and, in pursuit of this goal, we are committed to a journey of continuous improvement. At Ewell Grove, we believe that ambition provides the foundation for success.

Preparation for and an appreciation of life in Modern Britain

It is expected that schools will play a fundamental role in preparing children for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life in modern Britain. The social development of children is shown by their acceptance and engagement with the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths/cultures and beliefs. It is expected that our children will learn to demonstrate skills and attitudes, through their words and actions, which will allow them to participate fully in and contribute positively to life in modern Britain.

Sports Values 

At Ewell Grove, sport and physical activity are fundamental to how we nurture the whole child. Our sports values are not separate from our school day, they are explicitly taught through our PSHE curriculum and directly reinforce our Golden Rules.

Whether in the playground, during PE lessons, or representing the school in competitions, we teach and celebrate seven core values:

Determination – We keep trying, even when something feels difficult or new.

Courage – We step out of our comfort zone, take on challenges, and bounce back from setbacks.

Excellence – We strive to achieve our personal best, giving 100% effort in every movement and match.

Teamwork – We communicate, encourage one another, and work together toward a shared goal.

Equality – We ensure every child, regardless of background or ability, has equal opportunity to participate, enjoy, and succeed.

Respect – We show fairness, play by the rules, and treat teammates, opponents, and officials with dignity.

Friendship – We build strong relationships, celebrate each other's achievements, and foster an inclusive, supportive sporting community.
